this isn't happiness - Peter Nidzgorski

thought these were beautiful found them on ffffound.com. found found them on 'this isn't happiness' - if that makes sense.

my old and new

This was a series of photographs I made as part of a university project, I found some old family photographs and set about recreating them, this gave a historical context to the new photographs. I aimed to communicate the positive idea that even if you did lose everything in a fire you would still have your memories, and physical things like photographs can be recreated.

Sorry for the Christmas imposed silence... I was just too excited about my one roast dinner of the year to post anything! Get ready for the backlog.

It's a sign

My friend spotted this so sadly I can not take the credit, he took the picture because he found the spelling amusing. I on the other hand am a great admirer of the creative interpretation of the English language. Though this sign mostly appeals to me because it is hand drawn - I am a strong supporter of everything handmade, and I think its rather nice. Fit for purpose despite the spelling. Lovely.

Travelling moleskines

(Above: Nicky Gibson, Flickr)

A number of moleskines were sent round a bunch of great designers who all drew on / altered / covered a double page spread in the book. this finished a few months ago and the books were exhibited. Found a few snaps of one on flickr that someone had taken as it passed through. I especially like the 'I will keep you safe' box of kittens illustration.

Fabric flowers

"Handmaking allows for the production of something unique. It can also create a warmer and more personal aesthetic where this is appropriate, and as a process it allows for more freedom for experimentation with layers, colour, and materials"

How lovely are these? I am very into handmaking at the minute, especially as its christmas soon and there are lots of people to give presents to! Have a go at this 5 petal fabric flower yourself. There is a 9 step ever-so-easy to follow tutorial on folksy, take a peek...
